In Latin jazz, the rhythmic diversity of Latin America and the freedom from jazz and improvisation merge into a stirring musical language. Hardly any other formation embodies this connection as impressively as the César Correa Trio, which already delighted our audience at the JazzHall SummerFestival 2025. As a special guest, the trio – consisting of César Correa (piano), Eduardo “Dudu” Penz (bass) and Ricardo “Chicho” Castillo (drums, initiator of the Latin sessions) – will meet Ivonne González this evening. The Cuban singer takes the audience on a musical journey from Peru to Cuba to Uruguay. In doing so, she pays tribute to great women of Latin American music and unfolds the entire range of her repertoire with her warm voice.
